A rare and highly distinctive Coast dining set by Marc Newson for Magis, comprising the Coast dining table and four matching Coast chairs.
Originally designed by Marc Newson for the Coast restaurant in London, the Coast collection was redesigned in plastic for Italian design house Magis in 2002. Newson's design takes its inspiration from the rounded, softened forms of a television screen, resulting in a playful yet unmistakably sculptural silhouette.
This set features a white table and chair frames with a grey table surface and a combination of red and grey chair cushions, giving it a wonderfully graphic colour palette.
The softly rounded edges, integrated forms and almost futuristic proportions are quintessential Newson - playful, functional and instantly recognisable. It is a fantastic example of the designer's ability to bring a distinctly sculptural quality to everyday furniture.
The Coast collection was produced by Magis in Italy and is now no longer in production, making complete sets increasingly difficult to find.

The chairs retain their original Coast Chair design label, adding to their provenance.
Condition
Very good vintage/used condition with some light signs of age and use. No cracks. Overall, the set presents beautifully.
