An elegant antique oil painting of a still life bouquet featuring white and purple lilacs, beautifully arranged and captured with delicate brushwork.
The painting is housed in its original ornate gold gilt frame, a stepped style design that naturally draws the eye inward to the artwork. The frame is richly decorated with carved details along the edges, adding depth and elegance.
The rear of the frame is typical of early 1900s craftsmanship - solid timber with darker staining, natural patina, and butt-joined corners. The canvas is tacked directly onto the stretcher, consistent with the techniques of the early 20th century.
Period & Origin: Most likely 1920s. Artist unknown.
