About this piece
A rise of ochre and rust against a hard green base, with just enough dark verticals to make the scene feel watched. It reads like a call put out across distance, land first, voice second. Quiet until it is not.
Winks is a Melbourne painter whose work is colour-led and consistently titled in a way that suggests the words and the image arrived together. The name is deliberate, a low signal. If you catch it, it is yours.
