A beautiful and increasingly difficult to find pair of Whitefriars Ribbon Trail vases, designed by renowned British glass designer Barnaby Powell and dating to the late Art Deco period, circa 1938.
Executed in a warm amber glass, both vases showcase the celebrated Ribbon Trail technique in which molten glass trails are wrapped around the vessel during production, creating dynamic movement and elegant linear decoration.
While closely related in form and colour, each vase presents a distinct interpretation of the Ribbon Trail design. One features a dramatic spiral ribbon that sweeps from base to rim, while the second displays a more structured arrangement of horizontal and gently curving trails.
The combination creates a highly decorative and visually balanced pair that beautifully illustrates the design innovation for which Whitefriars became famous.
The rich amber colour glows wonderfully in natural light and complements both Art Deco and contemporary interiors.
