About this piece
A seriously striking vintage Colombian style armario, built from solid hardwood and finished with beautifully detailed hand forged ironwork across the upper doors.
The piece has a strong Spanish Colonial influence, with heavy panelled construction, an oversized moulded crown, aged timber full of natural character and ornate floral iron grilles sitting behind glass. The original style sliding bolt and iron hardware add even more personality, while the interior offers generous open shelving for storage, linen, books, ceramics or display pieces.
Originally sourced from Colombia and purchased through an antique dealer around 25 years ago, it has the kind of warmth, patina and craftsmanship that is difficult to replicate in modern furniture. Every mark and variation in the timber adds to its presence rather than taking away from it.
A substantial, one of a kind statement piece that would work beautifully in a Spanish Colonial, rustic, eclectic or contemporary interior.
