A stunning vintage Iwatsu Hineri art glass bowl, retaining its original Iwatsu factory sticker.
Hand-blown in Japan during the golden age of Japanese studio glass, this substantial piece features the organic flowing forms that made the Hineri range so distinctive. The bowl displays a beautiful soft amethyst-purple tone, deepening towards the base and highlighted by elegantly sculpted petal-like folds.
Viewed from above, the undulating rim creates a spectacular floral silhouette, while the thick hand-worked glass catches and refracts light throughout the piece.
The bowl also contains a few small bubbles within the glass, which are original manufacturing characteristics and a testament to its handcrafted production rather than flaws.
A nice collector's piece and a striking centrepiece for a coffee table, sideboard or dining setting.
