About this piece
A decorative vintage Italian porcelain urn by Ramgi, beautifully hand painted with a romantic courting scene set within a pastoral landscape. Rich ruby red glaze, ornate gilt scroll handles and moulded relief decoration give the piece a distinctly Rococo Revival character, inspired by the grand decorative porcelains of 18th century Europe. The reverse features a finely painted landscape scene, allowing the urn to be admired from every angle. Complete with its original lid, this is a wonderfully decorative piece suited to a mantel, console table, bookcase or cabinet display. Produced in Italy during the mid to late 20th century, the urn combines traditional hand-painted decoration with an elegant French-inspired form. Minor wear to the gilding consistent with age and use.
