An elegant vintage French Louis XV style occasional table, featuring a circular top with contrasting timber veneers and decorative gilt metal mounts. The beautifully figured burl veneer centre is surrounded by a darker cross banded border and a moulded timber edge. The shaped apron incorporates further panels of golden burl veneer, complemented by applied foliate metal mounts at the tops of the legs. Raised on four slender cabriole legs, the table features a shaped cross stretcher joined by a small turned central finial, with additional decorative metal mounts extending towards the feet.Vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use, including surface scratches, rubbing, marks and some separation and cracking to the veneer and timber edging around the top. Further minor wear and losses to the finish throughout.
