• bazaa_backup_original_description: A beautifully shaped French commode with a classic serpentine front and bombe sides, sitting on cabriole legs finished with decorative ormolu mounts to the feet. Richly toned with parquetry inlay across the drawer fronts and sides, framed with banding and finished with original style cast brass handles and escutcheons. The shaped apron with central mount gives it that proper French feel. A brecciated marble, likely Brèche d’Alep style, with warm ochre, rust, cream and soft pink tones running through it. Nicely shaped to follow the form of the commode and sits well with the timber below. Three drawers for storage. Condition consistent with age. There is veneer wear, small losses and some patching visible, particularly along edges and drawer fronts. The marble has surface marks and light wear. Nothing that takes away from the overall look. • 81 × 99 × 47cm.
