About this piece
Description: This vintage Chinese-style wedding cabinet is finished in a striking red lacquer, a colour traditionally associated with good fortune, joy and prosperity in Chinese culture. The pair of cupboard doors is centred by a decorative circular brass medallion, which forms a complete moon shape when closed, symbolising togetherness, harmony and unity.
Traditionally, cabinets of this style were crafted from timbers such as elm and finished with multiple layers of protective red lacquer, creating a durable and lustrous surface. Behind the two doors are internal shelves providing practical storage, while four drawers arranged two over two beneath the cupboard offer additional storage for smaller items.
Equally suited as a feature cabinet in a living room, dining room, hallway or bedroom, this piece combines decorative appeal with practical storage. It is one of a matching pair; the companion cabinet is offered separately and available at the time of listing.
