About this piece
A striking original Tulppaani vase designed by Tamara Aladin for Riihimäen Lasi, Finland, dating from the 1970s.
This sculptural Finnish art glass vase features Aladin's iconic stacked-ring form rendered in vibrant red cased glass with a substantial clear base. The bold architectural silhouette reflects the optimism and experimentation of Scandinavian design during the 1970s.
Highly decorative when displayed alone, the vase also works beautifully with a simple arrangement of flowers or foliage.
An increasingly sought-after piece of Nordic glass design and a wonderful addition to a collection of Scandinavian modernism.
This listing is for the red vase shown in the photographs.
A matching green Tulppaani vase is also available separately in my shop.
Very good vintage condition with light signs of age consistent with careful use.
