About this piece
The Sven Åge Eriksen GM11 armchair is a refined example of Danish Modern design, produced by Glostrup Møbelfabrik in the mid‑20th century. Known for its sculptural teak frame, soft curves, and balanced proportions, the GM11 embodies the quiet elegance of Scandinavian craftsmanship.
This restored example features a freshly sanded and hand‑oiled teak frame, bringing back the warm glow and natural grain that define Eriksen’s work. The chair’s clean lines, gently rounded armrests, and floating seat profile create a light, architectural silhouette suited to both contemporary and mid‑century interiors.
Designed for comfort and longevity, the GM11 remains a favourite among collectors for its rare combination of simplicity, craftsmanship, and organic warmth. A timeless Danish classic, restored with respect for its original materials and form.
Ideal for: design‑led homes, collectors of Danish Modern furniture, reading corners, living spaces, and architectural interiors seeking authentic mid‑century character.
