About this piece
A superb French Empire style centre table, crafted in richly figured mahogany and dating to circa 1840. Elegantly proportioned, the circular top displays beautiful flame mahogany figuring and is supported by four substantial column legs, each enriched with finely cast gilt bronze collars and decorative rosette mounts, all united by a distinctive cruciform stretcher.
Designed with both beauty and practicality in mind, the table features pull-out slides concealed beneath the top, allowing it to function as a sophisticated games table while retaining its clean, elegant profile as a centre table. The combination of bold Empire styling, architectural form and restrained gilt bronze ornamentation creates a timeless and highly decorative piece.
A fine example of French 19th century craftsmanship, this versatile table is equally suited as a centre, occasional, or games table, bringing elegance, quality craftsmanship and period character to any traditional or contemporary interior.
