About this piece

Petite lead‑free crystal carafe by Moser in the Splendid pattern, introduced by Leo Moser in 1911. The design combines an ornate 24‑karat gilt rim with an intricately cut crystal body, a form produced in various shapes and sizes across the pattern’s long history. Splendid has held a longstanding place in formal dining; in 1947 the Czechoslovak president presented Queen Elizabeth II with a selection of Splendid crystal as a wedding gift.

The acid‑etched Moser signature and base detail indicate post‑1950 manufacture. Acquired with a group of Moser pieces produced post‑1992, suggesting a late 20th‑century date.

Condition: Near‑immaculate, with no chips or cracks and only minor wear to the underside, consistent with age and light use.

Marking: ‘Moser’ acid‑etched to the underside.
