About this piece
The Falcon chair by Norwegian designer Sigurd Ressel is one of the most celebrated icons of Scandinavian mid‑century design. Introduced by Vatne Møbler in 1971, the Falcon quickly became an international success thanks to its sculptural silhouette, suspended seat construction, and exceptional comfort.
This vintage example features a solid beech frame paired with its original button‑tufted leather seat and back, showcasing the chair’s signature “hammock‑inspired” design. The leather is beautifully patinated, highlighting the authenticity and age of the piece while adding warmth and character.
The Falcon’s innovative structure — a canvas sling suspended within a springy frame — creates a uniquely flexible sitting experience. Combined with its organic curves and light visual footprint, the chair embodies the best of Norwegian modernism: functional, elegant, and timeless.
Highly sought after by collectors, architects, and lovers of Scandinavian design, the Falcon chair remains a standout statement piece in any interior.
