These Chiswell sideboard / buffet / cocktail cabinets are a rare find coveted by collectors and enthusiasts alike, and as such will be professionally refinished and will be very similar to the this piece pictured. Founded in Australia in the 1920s by Chiswell Bros, the Chiswell brand quickly rose to prominence for its commitment to quality and timeless design. With each piece reflecting the essence of mid-century modern elegance, Chiswell became synonymous with sophistication and style.
The cabinet boasts two long doors each with shelving or open drawers, a pull down space for all your drink serving needs and a further three drawers. These stunning pieces are a testament to the brand's legacy, offering both exquisite craftsmanship and ample storage space.

How pre-orders work
The photos show the same maker and model as the one we have in our inventory. A pre-order moves it to the front for restoration and your piece will be restored to the same standard as the one pictured. Expect small differences in grain and tone. No two vintage pieces are exactly the same but it's very similar.
The restoration
Professionally restored in our Cheltenham workshop, we restore all pieces in-house. Depending on the piece, the work includes stripping, sanding, repairs, toning and finishing with a durable hardwax oil or a professional and hard wearing pre-cat lacquer finish. Every piece leaves fully functional. It is vintage, so some small areas of character can remain. That is part of its history.
Deposit and timing
A 50% deposit secures the piece. From that moment it is yours.
Most pre-orders are finished within 2 to 4 weeks plus delivery time. Some restorations occasionally take longer. If yours is one of them, we tell you upfront and keep you posted throughout.
When the piece is finished, we send you photos and a video. You see the finished piece before you pay the balance. Melbourne customers are welcome to view it in person before delivery.
The balance, plus delivery cost, is due before dispatch.
