About this piece
High back and generous, the Model 161 is Parker's Scandinavian-influenced lounge chair, and luckily we have a matched pair in teak. The material is original and has been steamed cleaned, and will be again before leaving.
Parker began in Sydney in 1935. Tony Parker joined in 1949, studied industrial design, and brought Scandinavian influence to the range in the early 1950s. The low seat and deep frame are made for sitting back. As a pair, they can face a lounge across from a coffee table, or frame a window in a living room or study.
