About this piece
Vintage round side tables in the French Louis XV style, crafted in rich mahogany with satinwood marquetry inlay. Each top features a central floral bouquet within scrolling foliate borders, all set into a sunburst veneer—a characteristic of continental cabinet-making.
Gilt ormolu mounts accent the frieze and legs. The slender, tapering cabriole legs terminate in delicate brass salts, giving each table a refined profile.
Offered as a matching pair, the tables vary slightly in diameter, allowing them to nest or to be placed separately as accent pieces. Suitable as lamp tables, drink tables, or bedside tables.
Condition: Sold as-is. General signs of wear consistent with age. The satinwood inlay shows a few inconsistencies that do not impact function or overall presentation. No maker’s marks found; hand-written numbers are present on the underside of the bases. Sourced in Sydney.
Dimensions:
- Larger table: 72 cm H x 62 cm Dia.
- Smaller table: 71 cm H x 49 cm Dia.
