About this piece
A decorative pair of vintage Hollywood Regency wall shelves, combining faceted mirror panels with scalloped upholstered frames and integrated display shelves. Rich in character and glamour, they embody the layered, theatrical aesthetic synonymous with the Hollywood Regency movement. The distinctive arched silhouette draws inspiration from Moroccan and Spanish Revival design, while the mirrored detailing adds light and depth to a space. Ideal for displaying small ceramics, candles, curiosities or treasured collections. Retaining their original velvet upholstery, believed to have once been a deep burgundy or wine tone, the fabric has developed a beautifully timeworn appearance over the years with significant fading, now presenting in softer brown and muted rose hues. There is visible wear, fraying and losses to the upholstery, particularly across the shelf surfaces and edges, together with light age-related wear to the mirrors, all contributing to the authentic vintage charm of the pieces. Perfect for a dressing room, powder room, hallway or layered maximalist interior, these unusual shelves offer both function and decorative appeal. Sold as a pair.
