Pair of antique French side chairs in the Louis XVI style, crafted in walnut. Each chair features a carved ribbon motif with a double bow-knot to the crest rail, a hallmark of Neoclassical design associated in the late 18th century with a “return to nature” and the “sentimental,” aligned with the tastes of Queen Marie Antoinette. Hand-woven medallion-form cane backs and seats complete the composition.
