A Model 9049 square breakfast table in beechwood by famed secessionist designer Josef Hoffmann for the Purkersdorf Sanatorium, circa 1903, Austria. Signed and labeled for manufacture by J&J Kohn of Vienna.
It is believed that these tables were originally part of the dining room, as they retain evidence of brackets, which would have been used to configure the illustrated long central table (image attached).

Acquired originally from the Sanatorium when some of the remaining original designs were sold upon the transfer of ownership to the firm of Buwog, Bauen und Wohnen, Vienna.

Condition: The piece is stable however shows some signs of warping from age, most visible in the legs. There are some minor nicks and scratches throughout consistent with age and use as well as what appears to be some water damage to the bottom of the legs.
