About this piece
Mid-century English studio pottery lidded casserole from the Portmeirion Studio ‘Totem’ range, designed by Susan Williams Ellis, circa 1960s. Finished in the cobalt blue glaze.
The Totem pattern was produced across dinnerware and cookware in multiple colourways; cobalt blue examples are comparatively harder to source. Lidded versions are less commonly found, as lids were often broken.
