A highly regarded Danish mid-century desk designed by Kai Kristiansen, Model 54 is celebrated for its sculptural form and thoughtful functionality.
Defined by its distinctive curved top and refined proportions, the desk offers a strong architectural presence while remaining practical for everyday use. The rear is fully finished, allowing it to sit freely within a space — a feature that elevates it beyond a standard desk.
Internally, the design incorporates a series of drawers and a tambour-front storage section, often configured as a compact bar or concealed workspace. This combination of form and utility reflects Kristiansen’s approach to furniture design, where flexibility and craftsmanship are central.
This piece will be fully restored in our workshop prior to sale. Restoration includes a complete structural check, all joinery secured where required, and a professional refinishing of the timber to bring out the natural grain while maintaining the integrity of the original design.
