This LJ1 armchair was designed by Laurens van Wieringen for the Dutch furniture house De Vorm: a light grey PET felt shell on a white steel frame.
The chair's core idea is in the material. De Vorm presses recycled PET bottles into a single moulded felt shell, replacing what would normally be several separate upholstery steps with one process, and giving the seat both its soft texture and genuine acoustic dampening, a real functional benefit rather than a marketing line. The chair has seen use in commercial spaces, including Google's campus and the restaurant Pong specifically for that reason. The result sits closer to contract and hospitality furniture than a typical dining chair, built for durability as much as looks.
These are ex-showroom pieces, never sat in, in excellent condition and presenting as new.
