  The Designer: The "Cannes" pattern was designed circa 1950 by Marc Lalique, the son of the company's legendary founder, Ren e9 Lalique. Marc took over the company in 1945 and was instrumental in shifting Lalique's primary material from standard Art Nouveau glass to the heavier, more brilliant lead crystal we know today.

  Dimensions: It stands about 5.5 cm (2 inches) high, with a diameter of roughly 18-20 cm (7.5 inches).

  It is a remarkably hefty, solid piece of glass, weighing close to 1.7 kg.

  Excellent condition, note some "shelf friction"fine scratches on the very bottom where it has sat on tables
