This cup and saucer by Klytie Pate (1912-2010) features the cup handle fashioned as a seahorse. The diameter of the saucer is 112 mm. The lighter area at the top of the saucer is where the glaze hasn't taken before the firing. There are also some very minor chips to the cup rim. C 1942.
Klytie Pate (active 1934-1998) studied, and later taught at the Melbourne Technical College (later RMIT). After WW11 she retired from teaching and became a full time potter and held regular exhibitions of her work.
