A refined example of Danish mid‑century craftsmanship, this free‑standing teak desk by Gunnar Tibergaard Nielsen embodies the sculptural simplicity and functional elegance that define the era. Crafted in a combination of veneered and solid teak, the piece offers warm tonal depth, clean architectural lines, and a timeless presence suited for both contemporary and classic interiors.
Designed with practicality in mind, the front features four smoothly running drawers alongside an additional storage compartment—ideal for organising stationery, documents, or daily essentials. The rear of the desk is equally considered, offering open shelves and a secondary storage space, allowing the desk to sit beautifully in the centre of a room. Whether styled in a home office, studio, or living space, it presents as a functional work surface and a sculptural furniture statement.
This piece is in great used condition. The teak has matured beautifully, displaying the rich patina and grain character that collectors value in original mid‑century furniture.
A standout example of Danish design heritage, this Gunnar Tibergaard Nielsen desk is perfect for collectors, designers, and anyone seeking an authentic mid‑century centrepiece with both aesthetic and functional appeal.
