About this piece
Complete Nordic pine dining suite by Swedish designer Göran Malmvall, 1950s. Imported directly from a Swedish summer house.
Malmvall is known for elevating solid Nordic pine into architectural forms during the mid-century modern era. Working with Swedish manufacturers from the 1940s to the 1970s, his furniture reflects core Scandinavian principles: honest materials, refined craftsmanship, and functional clarity. Produced largely for private Swedish homes and summer houses rather than mass export, complete matched sets are scarce outside Europe.
Scandinavian pine furniture of this type was not widely exported to Australia, and complete suites with original components are seldom available locally. This example retains its original extension leaves, a component often missing from surviving sets.
Includes:
- 6 × Model 510 dining chairs
- Matching Nordic pine dining table
- Original extension leaves
