Details

This good quality silver plate and glass inkstand is nicely engraved and was presented as a gift from the congregation of St Mary's Wallaroo in South Australia. The inscription reads "Presented to Mr M H Lethaby by Congregation & Sunday School of St Mary's Wallaroo as a slight recognition of valuable services rendered May 1888". The manufacturers were Boardman and Glossop of Sheffield and London. The base is 270 mm wide, 187 mm deep and the whole piece stands 130 mm high, resting on four ball feet. Overall it is in very good condition with only some slight rubbing of the silver near the inscription and both finials to the inkwell lids having a slight lean to detract from it.
