About this piece
A beautiful early 20th century Jacobean Revival style armchair, featuring a tall winged back, shaped timber arms and distinctive block turned front legs joined by timber stretchers. We have had this lovely chair reupholstered, carefully selecting a rich mustard velvet to complement the warmth of the original timber frame. We chose a contrasting red laurel patterned trim, finished with decorative metal studs, to introduce a little colour and detail while remaining sympathetic to the chair's traditional European design. The combination of golden velvet, rich timber and patterned trim gives this handsome old chair a new lease of life, while retaining its original character. A lovely piece for a sitting room, bedroom or library. The original timber frame retains some wear consistent with age and use, while the upholstery has been completely refreshed.
