This rather scarce pair of Doulton Lambeth Copper Ware candlesticks stand 162 mm (6.5 inches) high and have a diameter at the base of 105 mm (4 inches). A copper coloured glaze was applied to a high fired stoneware body that Doulton named Silicon Ware. Designed to simulate old copper items, Copper Ware pieces feature very realistic seams, rivets, dents and verdigris that would be found on old copper utensils. They carry the model number X4759 as well as the Silicon Ware impressed stamp. They are in excellent condition and would date from around 1895.
