About this piece
Made by Dario Zoureff, one of Melbourne's most respected custom furniture makers through the 1950s to 1970s, known for individually commissioned pieces built around European craftsmanship and Australian materials rather than mass production. Most surviving Zoureff sofas are two or three-seat designs, making this four-seat configuration a rarer example of his work.
Built with Zoureff's signature blackbean (Moreton Bay chestnut) wishbone legs and base detailing, the timber's warm reddish tones and dramatic grain run throughout.
Fully restored: springs serviced and retightened, timber refinished in Oli Natura, and reupholstered in Casamance velvet in a rich rust brown inspired by aged leather. Includes two accent cushions.
