About this piece
CLAUDIO TREVI, Italy 1970s
Claudio Trevi (Padua, 1928–1987) made his name with exactly this kind of coffee table — a heavy, biomorphic cast concrete base finished to look like weathered, rusted metal, supporting a clean rectangular glass top. The interlocking, bone-like form is pure 1970s Italian sculpture as much as furniture, and this example has aged rich orange-brown patina across the base.
Some small cracks in the concrete base and minor scratches on glass commensurate with its age circa 1970.
