About this piece
One of our most received requests is for signet rings and this particular piece is a lovely example. Crafted from 14 karat yellow gold the ring has been set with an octagonal cut piece of carnelian which has been rub-over set and remains without a monogram or crest. The ring features two small gold marks to the exterior base of the shank which unfortunately are unidentified but are likely Dutch in origin. The beauty about this signet ring is that is still has the ability to be engraved with a family crest or a monogram by an experienced engraver, or can be left blank for someone who wants a low key look. Whilst it is hard to be totally certain about the age of this piece, it is likely from the mid 20th century based on its design and construction. A very versatile ring which has could even be worn by a woman who prefers bold and oversized pieces.
