About this piece
Iconic circular dining table designed by Børge Mogensen, crafted in solid oak with a warm, natural grain finish. The table features an extension mechanism with two additional leaves, allowing it to expand seamlessly from a compact round form to accommodate more guests. Ideal for both everyday dining and entertaining.
The clean Scandinavian lines, tapered legs, and honest use of solid oak reflect Mogensen's characteristic commitment to functional craftsmanship and timeless design. A piece that works as well in a modern interior as it does in a classic one.

Design Story
Born in 1914 in Aalborg, Mogensen trained first as a cabinetmaker before studying furniture design in Copenhagen. That dual background shaped his philosophy throughout his career: furniture should be functional, honest, and built to improve daily life rather than simply impress visually.
During the postwar years, Mogensen helped define the identity of Scandinavian design through pieces that emphasized clean lines, natural materials, and human comfort. Unlike more sculptural modernists, his work often felt grounded and understated, focusing on proportion and usability over dramatic forms.
Among his most famous creations are the Spanish Chair and the J39 Chair, both celebrated for their timeless construction and warm simplicity. His furniture frequently combined solid oak, leather, and woven materials, reflecting a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship.
Mogensen believed good furniture should last generations, both physically and aesthetically. That philosophy helped make his designs enduring staples of Nordic interiors, where comfort and restraint are valued equally.
Today, Børge Mogensen remains one of the most respected names in Danish design history. His furniture continues to feel contemporary decades later, embodying a version of modernism that is calm, functional, and deeply human.
