Mid to late nineteenth-century Saxony-style spinning wheel in timber, treadle operated and foot powered. Associated with the working craft of British or Northern European textile households, later carried to Australia during the colonial period.
Built around a horizontal drive wheel with lathe-turned legs, spindles, and flyer arms, it is assembled using period joinery with minimal metal hardware.
