About this piece
This rare antique utilitarian desk has a beautifully aged reddish-brown finish, with a single centre drawer, turned legs and a worn linoleum top. Finding an antique work table with an integrated decorative lino top is exceptionally uncommon, and this example retains generations of genuine wear across the surface, frame and legs. The heavily worn finish gives a wonderful sense of its long working life, while the aged timber and traditional pegged joinery add to its character and authenticity. A fascinating piece of antique furniture that would make an excellent writing desk, studio table or distinctive workspace in a country, traditional or eclectic setting.
