Details
An extraordinary piece of 19th-century craftsmanship, this antique Chinese daybed dates back to the 1800s and is made from solid elm with its original rattan seat. Measuring 248 cm long, this elegant daybed is a statement of both beauty and cultural heritage.
Delicately hand-carved with traditional symbols of prosperity and protection—including lotus flowers, swords, fans, and lucky bats—the detailing reflects the artistry of the Qing Dynasty. The panels are removable, allowing for versatility in presentation. The patina on the timber adds warmth and depth, highlighting its age and story. The rattan base is original as such natural wear on it where it has loosened and there are some small holes as evident by uploaded images.
