This is a lovely genuine antique French later 19th century Jewellery Box and or Trinket Box.
It is rectangular in form with cantered corners and is extremely well made. It is superbly finished in exotic Amboyna. The top has a Kingwood borber with an Ebony outer stringing and the cantered corners are also in Kingwood. The top has a rectangular panel of Amboyna with a central shaped medallion of Ebony Brass, Mother of Pearl and Kingwood.
Condition: Externally excellent - Internally good original however can be approved by relining with fabric or polished timber panels. A full size lift out tray can also be made and fitted for more versatility.
Size: Width 26cm x Width 18cm x Height 11cm.

About this piece

Late 19th-century French jewellery or trinket box of rectangular form with canted corners, veneered in amboyna. The lid is edged with a kingwood border and ebony outer stringing; the canted corners are also finished in kingwood. A central rectangular amboyna panel frames a shaped medallion inlaid with ebony, brass, mother-of-pearl and kingwood.

Condition: Exterior excellent. Interior in good, original condition; may be improved by relining with fabric or polished timber panels. A full-size lift-out tray can also be made and fitted for additional functionality.
