A beautifully carved antique French Louis XV style settee featuring a giltwood frame, rattan panels and a moss green upholstered seat. The sweeping serpentine crest, elegant cabriole legs and pierced lyre splat combine Rococo curves with refined neoclassical detailing, giving the piece a timeless French elegance. Perfect in a sitting room, bedroom, dressing room or spacious entry, it offers warmth, texture and character without overwhelming a space. The original gilt finish has mellowed beautifully over time, with a soft patina that only decades of age can create. The original rattan panels show age-related breaks and small holes in places, while the green upholstered seat show’s wear consistent with age. Wear and losses to the gilt finish.
