About this piece

Antique French tabourette in the Louis XV style, dating to the second half of the 19th century. The serpentine-shaped marble top is set over a solid French walnut frame with gilt-embellished, cast brass mounts and mouldings. A brass-galleried lower shelf is finished in a segmented ‘sunburst’ pattern.

Noted as a well-made, weighty example for its size, with high-quality brass work and a carefully selected marble top.

Condition: one toe cap (sabot) is missing; a replacement can be cast. A professional refurbishment to the polish and re-gilding of the brass mounts and mouldings is recommended.

Dimensions: 32 cm W x 32 cm D x 76 cm H.
