This is a quality, classic, genuine, antique English George IV / William IV circa 1830s and of very good quality and in equally desirable excellent near original condition CARD TABLE / SIDETABLE.
Hand made by craftsmen from desirable and prestigious Central American Honduran Mahogany of excellent colour and figuring.
The rectangular top swivels and folds back to rest upon the frieze section and reveal the baize lined playing surface. The frieze has a recessed front rectangular panel and decorative ‘S’ shaped carved scrolls with foliate embellishment at either end.
The top section sits upon a central tapering ‘gun barrel’ column which has a lower boldly carved Tulip and a lower ring collar. The whole sits on a shaped platform base which has four corner positioned, lower protruding well carved Lion Paw feet with rear scrolls and the original all brass castor assemblies beneath.
The colour is excellent as is the condition which is commensurate for age and use.
