About this piece
Description: This sideboard features two generously proportioned cupboards, each with an impressive raised-and-recessed panel displaying elaborate carved floral urn motifs surrounded by flowing acanthus leaves and scrolling foliage. These beautifully detailed carvings give the piece a distinctive decorative character.
Above the cupboards are two full-width drawers, each fitted with ornate brass handles featuring traditional decorative backplates. The drawers provide convenient storage for cutlery, table linen and smaller household items, while the cupboards below offer generous additional storage.
The rectangular timber top is finished with a moulded edge, complemented by vertical decorative mouldings separating the drawers and cupboards. The sideboard rests on a traditional shaped base, maintaining the substantial proportions and classic appearance associated with antique English cabinet furniture.
Combining practical storage with attractive carved detailing, this walnut sideboard would make an excellent addition to a dining room, living room or entrance hall. Its versatile design also makes it suitable for use as a buffet or decorative storage cabinet.
The combination of walnut timber, elaborate carved panels and traditional brass fittings makes this a particularly appealing piece for those seeking antique English furniture with character and individuality.
