This is a good practical and attractive genuine antique English 19th century Victorian Display Cabinet designed and made by craftsmen with a popular French Louis XV influence. The cabinet has a large central front glazed door with serpentine shaped curved glazed display panels at either end and all reveal a fabric lined interior with two full width shelves.
The Cabinet is finished in selected honey coloured Walnut with good figuring which is book leaf matched on the top surface. The cornice above the door has a central inlaid stylised floral and line inlay decoration and an applied brass horizontal molding. Also the cornice and all three glazed areas have decorative cross banding plus a fine line inlay. Either side of the door are full height half round engaged pilasters each embellished with both upper and lower applied cast brass mounts in the form of corbels. There is also a cast brass horizontal molding at the base of the frieze section. The top of the frieze, both pillasters andaround all the glazed areas are fine line inlays with a cross banded detail within and alo the cabinet features a central frieze inlay and the top is very bwell figured and the patern is book leaf matched.The shaped plinth base compliments the shape of the top and has a serpentine lower edge.
Condition: Excellent commensurate with age and use. Some slight discolouration to the fabric on one end of the lower display area. Complete with a key.
