This is a very good quality and well proportioned genuine antique English Victorian period two door Book Case / Side Cabinet of quality Mahogany construction and finished in lovely honey coloured figured Walnut.
The cabinet has a pleasing top edge molding and a complimentary molding on the top of the plinth base. Either side of the doors are very decorative classic full height rectangular engaged fluted pilasters with foliate carved corinthian capitols and the glazed panel doors reveal an interior for display and the cabinet has two full width adjustable height shelves with nicely molded front edges and gold tooled leather dust protectors which were used to stop dust accumulating on the top of the books. The dust protectors are easily removable if not required.
Condition: Very good mellowed original condition for age. We have photographed it just the way it has come to us and like all pieces of furniture around 175 years old would benefit from a minor professional refurbishment to bring out its best.

Sellers Observation: Top quality materials and construction plus equally good finishing details. So much so the maker ( Maker, Vockins of London ) stamped it on the back so it also has provinance.
