Details

This is a fine quality example of a genuine antique, 19th Century, English Victorian period circa 1870 combination MUSIC CANTERBURY and WHATNOT STAND.

It is finished in well figured and lovely ‘honey’ coloured ‘book leaf ‘matched Walnut. Each tier is further embellished with a perimeter cross banding and Satin Wood fine line inlays. The top and middle tier also feature a stylised foliate inlay motif in Satinwood.

The Canterbury section has its original leather and gold tooling to the shelf fronts and the top tier has a three sided brass gallery. The shelves are separated by well turned and nicely detailed slender vertical columns which compliment the turned and tapered feet which terminate in original brass bucket cups with the brown porcelain wheels beneath.

The piece has been professionally refurbished about 20 years ago and is complete with a key.
