These are an exceptional set of six of the finest quality genuine antique English George IV (1820s ) Dining Chairs. Superbly made by craftsmen from the best imported prestigious Central American Mahogany. The chairs feature a shaped 'balloon' backs with triple arched top rails embellished with bold Egyptianesque carvings. The seat rails are straight and nicely profiled while the front legs are turned tapered boldly reeded have a top foliate carved ring turning and terminate in original all brass castors. The seats are upholstered and finished in expensive black woven horse hair fabric weft and a red cotton warp. This fabric is very expensive and is produced in very small quantities on !original 18th century hand operated looms in the U.K.
Condition: The frames are structurally in excellent condition and of very good colour as is the upholstery.
