About this piece
George IV period Pembroke table in dense, highly figured Cuban mahogany. The top carries two drop leaves, each with dual gate-leg supports beneath for stable extension.
The frieze incorporates a flush-mounted, oak-lined drawer with a tooled leather writing surface that slides back to reveal a storage drawer. A concealed pull-out compartment accommodates inkwells and writing implements. The drawer is lockable and retains its key.
The base features a well-turned centre column with a lower urn embellishment. Four tapered cabriole legs, each with a full-length reeded panel, terminate in finely carved lion paw feet with original all-brass castor assemblies.
Condition: Structurally very sound and professionally restored to a high standard. Complete with key to the drawer.
