Description: A beautiful antique English flame mahogany bookcase cabinet dating to the late Georgian - Early Victorian period, circa 1830. The striking flame mahogany figuring across the doors gives the piece its wonderful depth and character, particularly when the light catches the timber.
The upper section features two glazed doors with attractive arched glazing and decorative moulded detail, opening to reveal two adjustable timber shelves. Below, the cabinet has a full-width drawer above two beautifully figured flame mahogany panelled doors. The lower cupboard contains a further adjustable shelf, providing generous and flexible storage.
The proportions are particularly pleasing, with a moulded cornice, gently rounded upper corners and a substantial plinth base. The restrained decoration allows the beautiful flame mahogany to be the main feature.
