About this piece
Rich with colour, age and the marks of more than two centuries, this Antique Chinese Huang Box brings a wonderful sense of history into the home. Sourced in Shandong Province, China, the hand-painted exterior features traditional floral and vessel motifs in earthy red, deep blue and black, softened by layers of wear and patina that could only have developed through generations of use.
At approximately 200+ years old, the box is a genuine piece of antique Chinese furniture, originally created as a practical storage chest for the household. Today, its compact proportions make it particularly versatile. Use it as a side table, bedside table or decorative storage chest, or simply allow its beautifully aged painted surface to become an object of interest in its own right. A one-of-a-kind piece collected in Shandong, with its history still visible across every worn edge and painted detail.
